Read and approved Letter No. 87 of 28th February 1844 to the Land Officer authorizing him to proceed with the drainage of the Wong nei chun and Loo cum poo vallies and requesting and estimate of the whole expense thereof.
Read and approved Letter No. 88 of 29th February 1844 to Captain D'Aguilar stating that the County to Volunteers for the Police Force would for the present be defrayed by the Colonial Government.
Read Letter No. 98 of 14th March 1844 to Captain D'Aguilar on the same subject.
Read and approved Letter No. 89 of 29th February 1844 to Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Cochrane respecting the non-removal of Naval Stores from the Queen's Road.
Read and approved Letter No. 86 of 28th February 1844 to Mr. Stanton the Colonial Chaplain referring his application to the Land Officer.
Read and approved Letter No. 92 of 6th March 1844 to Messrs Matheson and others in answer to their application for an extension of the time for which Lands in Hongkong had been leased.
Read and approved Despatch No. 16 of 17th March 1844 to Lord Stanley thereon.
Read Letter No. 106 of 16th March 1844 to the Land Officer requesting him to forward an estimate of the amount of sums expended in building in the Colony before and since the notification that Her Majesty's Government did not recognize any Grants made previous to the ratification of the Treaty of nankin and of the number of those persons who have strictly complied with the conditions of such previous Grants of Land.
Read Letter No. 93 of 9th March 1844 to Captain D'Aguilar respecting the principle to be adopted in the valuation of certain houses situate within the limits of the military cantonment.
Read Letter No. 95 of 11th March 1844 to Captain D'Aguilar regarding the Military defence of the Colony and the occupation of Stone cutter's Island as connected there with.
Read and approved Letter No. of 11th march 1844 to Ching acting Governor of Kwantung in reference to certain encroachments alleged to have been made by English Officers at the eastern entrance of the Harbour of Victoria.
Read Letter No. 99 of 15th March 1844 to the Land Officer authorizing him to allow the Land Officer authorizing him to allow the building of the proposed quay or sea wall and sanctioning the outlay to be made by government therein.
Read and approved Letter No. 107 of 16th march 1844 to Land Officer deferring a determination on his proposal of changes in the line of the Queen's Road.
Read and approved Letter No. 114 of 19th March 1844 to Mr. Gutzlass directing him to take the steps therein pointed out to put a stop to Tang's attempt to collect Rent at little Hongkong.
